This is an opportunity to get a pair of these prints so you can compare and contrast the traditional Western and Eastern style of woodblock printmaking. These are a reproduction of the original woodcut by Albrecht Dürer from the early 16th century. I used Japanese cherry and traditional carving knives and chisels for the carving of this block. I printed these images using sumi ink/oil based ink on handmade gampi paper from Japan. The impressions were taken by hand using a traditional Hon baren which is handmade from Japan.
