This is a reductive woodblock print made from 12 separate impressions. This view of Lake George is from “The Pinnacle” in Bolton Landing, New York. My goal was to create atmosphere and depth using subtle color build up to the darkest foreground colors. The weather in the Adirondacks changes very quickly, I wanted to capture the moment just before the sun breaks through the rainclouds after a summer rain storm.
